Illinois Concealed Carry Class Information (CCW)

The Illinois Concealed Carry (CCW) class, provided by Training By Christy, consists of classroom training and INCLUDES the shooting range qualification. The basic  requirements for this class is that the student be at least 21 years of age and possess an Illinois FOID card. For more information click on the Policies link and read the FAQ's for more details. The classroom portion will include all the state mandated information plus equipment reviews and hands-on demonstrations. The shooting qualification for this class requires students to demonstrate safe firearm handling skills on the range as well as a scored shooting proficiency test with their own personal handgun; 70% accuracy within the scoring rings (new directive from the state police) on a B-27 silhouette target (21 hits).

                     10  shots at 5 yards (15 feet) - 10 shots at 7 yards (21 feet) - 10 shots at 10 yards (30 feet)

Students normally provide their own handgun and ammunition [minimum of 50 rounds] for range qualification. If you do not have your own handgun please contact us PRIOR to the class so we can make arrangements for you.

"As long as the student takes his/her time, keeps the gun pointed down range and calmly squeezes off the 30 rounds ----- they should pass with no problem.  The shooting is the easy part; the focus needs to be on range safety. We'll make sure you know what to do.  We want everyone to be successful...."

If you are a new shooter and you need basic handgun training we can provide it as part of our newly reconfigured "Private" CCW class format.

We can also make arrangements for a mobile fingerprinting service to be on-site to take and submit your fingerprints electronically.
